Correspondence to voters from organizations other than the Supervisor of Elections’ Office

Broward County, Florida (October 12, 2018) – The Supervisor of Elections would like to inform all registered voters that if he or she received a letter from the Voters Participation Center (VPC) or any other entity enclosing a voter registration application or a vote-by-mail ballot application, it is not an official mailing from the Supervisor of Elections’ Office.

These organizations receive their voter list from various sources and the information may not match the information on file in our office.  If you receive mailings from an organization other than your Supervisor of Elections’ Office, please contact us at       954-357-7050, or e-mail us at elections@browardsoe.org. 

Voters can update their voter status or request a vote-by-mail ballot online at www.browardsoe.org or over the phone at 954-357-7050.

Be On the Lookout for Your Vote-by-Mail Ballot

Broward County, Florida (September 28, 2018) –The Broward County Supervisor of Elections’ Office would like to inform voters that approximately 203,000 vote-by-mail ballots will be going out in the mail on October 2, 2018.  Once the voter has received his or her ballot, we remind them to keep the following in mind:

·        Vote on both sides of the paper ballot.

·        Ballots can be mailed back for free or, hand-delivered to the Elections’ office.

·        Remember to SIGN THE VOTER CERTIFICATE which is on the envelope of the vote-by-mail ballot. 

·        Vote-by-mail voters will not receive sample ballots in the mail.

·        Vote-by-Mail ballots must be in the possession of the Broward Supervisor of Elections by 7:00 p.m. on election night.  Post marks are not accepted. 

·        Ballots received after 7:00 p.m. on Election Night will not be counted.

Once early voting begins from October 22^nd through November 4^th, voters may drop-off ballots at designated early voting sites between 7:00 a.m. and 7:00 p.m.  Please go to www.browardsoe.org for vote-by-mail ballot drop-off locations.

Broward Elections’ Office is Ready to Deliver 3,245 Ballots to Overseas & Out-of-State Military Voters

Broward County, FL (September 21, 2018) — On Saturday, September 22, 2018,          the Broward County Supervisor of Elections’ Office will send out approximately 3,245 vote-by-mail ballots to Overseas & Out-of-State Military voters for the General Election scheduled for November 6, 2018.  Ballots will be sent to Broward voters wherever they reside around the world, so long as the voter has requested a ballot.  Stateside family members are encouraged to contact their overseas family members to remind them to be on the lookout if they requested a ballot.

Domestic Vote-by-Mail ballots will be arriving in the mail boxes following the first mailing on October 2, 2018. Requests for ballots to be mailed will be processed until     Wednesday, October 31, 2018.

Vote-by-Mail Reminders:

·         Read all sides of the ballot carefully.

·         Read and follow ballot instructions on how to return your ballot

·         Return the vote-by-mail ballot with sufficient time for receipt prior to 7:00 p.m. on election day.

·         Overseas ballots may be returned up to ten days following the General Election, but must bear the post mark of November 6, 2018 to be counted.

Broward County, Florida (July 20, 2018) –The Broward County Supervisor of Elections’ Office would like to inform voters that more than 182,000 vote-by-mail ballots will be going out in the mail on July 24, 2018.  Once the voter has received his or her ballot, we remind them to keep the following in mind:

·        Vote on both sides of the paper ballot.

·        Ballots can be mailed back for free or, hand-delivered to the Elections’ office.

·        Remember to sign the voter certificate which is on the envelope of the vote-by-mail ballot. 

·        Vote-by-mail voters will not be mailed sample ballots

·        Vote-by-Mail ballots must be in the possession of the Broward Supervisor of Elections by 7:00 p.m. on election night.  Post marks are not accepted.

Once early voting begins from August 18^th through August 26^th, voters may drop-off ballots at designated early voting sites between 10:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m.  Please go to www.browardsoe.org for vote-by-mail ballot drop-off locations.

Voter Households Will Receive Sample Ballots in Mail

Broward County, Florida (July 20, 2018) -Broward County voter households should be on the lookout for a generic Primary Election Sample Ballot arriving in the mail the week of  July 23, 2018. The Sample Ballot contains the candidates for the Primary Election and important election information that will help the voter prepare to vote. 

For this upcoming August 28th election, please remember that Florida is a closed primary state and only voters with a major party affiliation are eligible to vote in a primary when electing that party’s nominee for the general election. All voters, regardless of affiliation may vote for nonpartisan races and issues such as: judicial and School Board candidates.

There will be a few races on this primary election ballot that are considered a universal primary race. This means that all the candidates for an office have the same party affiliation, and the winner of the primary election will not face any opposition in the general election.  Therefore, all registered voters can vote for any of the candidates for that office in the Primary Election.

Please cross-reference the sample ballot with your Voter Information Card to identify your precinct’s assigned congressional, legislative, county commission, and school board district numbers on the ballot in the upcoming election.

Please note: One Sample Ballot will be sent per household.
