March 7th, 2020 Deadline to Request Vote-By-Mail Ballot and Early Voting Begins

Ft. Lauderdale, Florida – The Broward County Supervisor of Elections advises voters to mark their calendar for March 7, 2020 for two important election dates:

  1. It is the last day to request a Vote-By-Mail ballot, and
  2. It is also the first day of Early Voting for the Presidential Preference Primary and Municipal Elections.

Vote-By-Mail Advisory

The last day to request a Vote-By-Mail ballot is Saturday, March 7th. However, voters are advised to please be aware that your Vote-By-Mail ballot must be received (not postmarked) by the Broward County Elections office by March 17, 2020 in order for your ballot to be counted in accordance with Florida law.

The elections office is working with the USPS to secure as many ballots as they receive late in the day on the 17th to ensure as many ballots as possible are counted. Ballots not received by 7:00 pm on the 17th cannot be counted.

Voters who wait until late and who worry that their ballot won’t be received on time can return their ballots in person to any of the 22 Early Voting sites, or any time at our 24-hour drop box at the Voting Equipment Center in Lauderhill or the main downtown SOE office during regular business hours.

Early voting will run from March 7, 2020, through March 15, 2020, from 10:00 am to 6:00 pm exactly as they were in previous PPP elections.
