Committee Reporting Guidelines

When to File

106.07 Reports; certification and filing.

(1) Each campaign treasurer designated by a candidate or political committee pursuant to s. 106.021 shall file regular reports of all contributions received, and all expenditures made, by or on behalf of such candidate or political committee. Except for the third calendar quarter immediately preceding a general election, reports must be filed on the 10th day following the end of each calendar quarter from the time the campaign treasurer is appointed, except that, if the 10th day following the end of a calendar quarter occurs on a Saturday, Sunday, or legal holiday, the report must be filed on the next following day that is not a Saturday, Sunday, or legal holiday. Quarterly reports must include all contributions received and expenditures made during the calendar quarter which have not otherwise been reported pursuant to this section.

Any other candidate or a political committee required to file reports with a filing officer other than the division must file reports on the 60th day immediately preceding the primary election, and biweekly on each Friday thereafter through and including the 4th day immediately preceding the general election, with additional reports due on the 25th and 11th days before the primary election and the general election.

Where to File (Area, Scope, Jurisdiction)

Reports are filed with the Officer before whom the political committee registers. If the · Committee's Filing Officer is other than the Division of Elections, Reports are submitted electronically with Finance with the Supervisor of Elections or in hard copy with the Municipality.

· Division: Political committees supporting or opposing statewide, legislative, multicounty candidates and/or issues.

· Supervisor of Elections: Political committees supporting or opposing countywide or less than countywide candidates and/or issues (except municipal).

· Municipal Clerk: Political committees supporting or opposing only municipal candidates and/or issues. Exception: Any political committee which would be required to file in two or more locations need only file with the Division. (Section 106.03(3), Fla. Stat.

Reports filed with the Division through the Electronic Filing System (EFS) are due no later than midnight, Eastern Time, of the due date.
