DELIVERED ALMOST 50,000 ABSENTEE BALLOTS TO THE POST OFFICE FOR THE MUNICIPAL GENERAL ELECTIONS


Broward County, FL. (February 6, 2012)- On Tuesday, February 5, the Supervisor of Elections shipped out the first batch of Absentee Ballots for the March 12 Municipal elections. Additional Ballots will be mailed out on a daily basis until March 8. The municipalities voting are Coconut Creek, Deerfield Beach, Fort Lauderdale (District 2), Miramar, Oakland Park, Parkland, Plantation, Pompano Beach and Sunrise.

Requests for an Absentee Ballot may be made in writing, in person or by calling (954)357-7055. The last day to request a ballot to be mailed is Wednesday, March 6. Voted ballots may be mailed back or hand delivered to either of the Supervisor’s offices in Fort Lauderdale or Lauderhill.

If voting by mail, please consider the following:
* Do not allow anyone to assist completing the ballot unless it is a family member or trusted friend
* Remember to sign the Voter Certificate at the red X after sealing the envelope
* Use care in choosing who you give the Ballot to if hand delivering
* Do not give your Ballot to a stranger
* Make sure it is received by the Elections office no later than 7:00 p.m. on Election Day to be counted. (Postmarks do not count.)
